Totals are in, Day #1 revised for the whiners and Day #2 is up… No more changes will be made!

Again, the whole purpose of the “Test Week” is to measure improvement, to see personal progress.  Not to compare notes with others’ progress.  There are many variables to which people progress.  Diet, use of alcohol, irregular sleep patterns, weather, hormones, the list goes on and on.  So, if one person gained 20 pounds on their particular lift and you only gained 10… Guess what, IT’S AN IMPROVEMENT, SO WHO CARES? 

 

With all that said, I am proud of everyone’s improvements, there were some very large PR’s set by most all.  Keep up the good work.  Now, for scoring…  The points column simply reflects what “place” you got on that particular skill set or lift.  The lower the points, the better.

Results and Schedule

For those of you checking the website hourly to see if I have posted the results of this week’s testing.  Stop!  Enjoy your families and get off the computer!  They won’t be posted until either Sunday night or Monday!  I apologize for the delay, but I am now out of town and unable to score the results!

 

We are in between cycles right now.  The schedule will be back to normalcy on Monday morning.  The online scheduling still isn’t quite working just right yet, so please keep the phone calls, texts, and emails coming!

Holiday Burpee Challenge!

For the elimination of those extra pounds this holiday season, we are going to do a burpee challenge!  Each day starting tomorrow, Thanksgiving, if you are up for the challenge of keeping the holiday weight off and bettering your ability to perform burpees, do 3 burpees each day, then add 3 burpees each day.  The first day of the challenge, perform 3 burpees, the second day, perform 6, the third day, perform 9…  We will be doing them at the end of each class too so I will be able to tell if you are doing them at home!  If you workout on your own, still do them!

Testing

Okay, this is a fun week, but some people are losing sight on the importance of the week.  I realize I am trying to make this week similar to a competition.  I understand that you are comparing yourselves against everyone else.  Mistakes will be made, I am sorry!  I may write down the wrong number or score, some of you may not get to a particular lift or movement due to injury.  It’s okay!  DO NOT LOSE SIGHT ON THE IMPORTANCE OF THE TESTING PROCESS!!  It’s about self improvement.  Every single person has out lifted their previous scores, endurance has improved, and coordination has improved.  That is what it is ALL about! 

 

Whining doesn’t get people anywhere.  I am sorry if I made a mistake.  If it was a legit competition, every individual athlete would have their own judge.  To shed light on the amount of work I do behind the scenes for testing, my schedule yesterday was me being at the gym from 5:oo am til 10:00 pm.  So I do apologize if I make a mistake.  I love the testing week for you guys.  Its a blast to see people reach their goals and set records.  If you are THAT in to the competition factor, it is up to you to ensure I have the exact scores and loads.  Please help me help you!

DAY #1 of Testing is complete, scores are tallied and some serious work was done this cycle!  Holy smokes, the two most used letters today (besides the ones more frequently used in here, being F U) were P R!!!  Outstanding progress was made and in light of a few changes this time round, it turned out to be quite the exciting closeout to a killer Fall Cycle!  A total of 64 people tested for Day #1 and every single person hit multiple PR’s.  Excellent work everyone, lets get some rest for Day #2!

Benefit to Help Elk Grove Food Bank

“Fittest in Elk Grove” competition.  This event is being hosted by Charlie Zamorra of WarriorZ Fitness based out of Elk Grove.  Charlie has described this event as a multiple WOD throwdown style event in which participants will compete to be named the fittest in Elk Grove.  There will be multiple CrossFit affiliates in attendance and we would like to send as many athletes out as possible with such short notice.  Charlie has apologized for the short notice, but I assured him that we would rather be invited late than never.

Proceeds for this event will go to the Elk Grove Food Bank.  This event is just in time for the busy Thanksgiving weekend that the food bank sees on an annual basis.  If you have it in your means to donate — even if you cannot participate, please contact Charlie at the phone number listed above to make your donation.

This event is planned to run rain or shine so plan accordingly.  Bring your cold weather gear and be prepared to hit a couple of CrossFit style WODs as hard as possible.  This is one of those events that will continue to define the culture of the CrossFit community in the greater Sacramento area (most info on this was taken from CFWS, thank you).

 

On the short notice, we do have Chad and Gary confirmed with a few maybes (childcare dependent).  So, competing or not, get your rear in gear and support the community!  Again, IT’S FOR A GOOD CAUSE!!!  No excuses!

Playdate and Scheduling

Pictured above was yesterday’s “playdate” with some of the fittest around the greater Sacramento area to come in to train together.  Thank you all for showing up making this a great time!  People travelled from Elk Grove, Vacaville, Manteca, Sacramento, and other areas.  A few people had to leave early and were not able to get the group photo taken.  Thanks again all, that was a blast!

 

Finally, the online scheduling is available!  Not quite all of the bugs are worked out just yet, but be patient.  Create an account and you will be able to schedule class days and times at your convenience (and with your day planner in front of you).  Once you are scheduling your time, click the “click here to register as unpaid” icon.  This will just be temporary until we get the online payment and automated EFT established. 

 

Thank you for your patience.  Also, please be alert that the Testing days are in fact 90 min long classes, as opposed to the normal 60 min classes.

Testing Schedule

Pictured above is the “Eliminators”, a youth soccer team of 16 girls (all 12 and under) coming in to help enhance their athleticiscm!

 

Due to the holiday and shortened week, this time of testing will commence on Sunday the 21st at 10:00 am.  Please note that for the youth (13 and under or in the midst of the sporting season, only the NIKE SPARQ testing will be necessary).  Allow for 90 min classes, as to help ease the pressure when trying to perform max efforts. 

 

NIKE SPARQ testing schedule will be Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday at 4:00 pm.

 

DAY #1 Testing will be both Sunday and Monday.  Follow schedule link for times.

 

DAY #2 Testing will be both Tuesday and Wednesday.  Follow schedule link for times.
